Serve as business operations and loan documentation lead for assigned market. Provide support for Member Business Deposit (MBD) services, deposit data processing functions, and Member Business Loan (MBL) functions. Organize Member Business daily activities/duties and provide project research and support.  Position will work closely with Business Loan Advisors. 


  • Develop an in depth understanding of member business entity types, MBD and MBL products and services, and best practices.


  • Provide telephone support to market area’s member businesses and credit union employees seeking MBD and MBL department assistance, as well as, provide telephone back up support to outside markets.


  • Assist with preparation of periodic (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) MBD and MBL reports.


  • Assist with new and existing employee MBD training material preparation and distribution. Assist with the implementation of new products, services and procedures.


  • Create and review market area’s MBD files.


  • Determine, prepare and/or obtain the necessary MBL documents to evidence debt and secure business purpose loans. Position will utilize Laser Pro document creation.


  • Request MBL appraisal and/or title work estimates/bids, and place orders accordingly.


  • Analyze title insurance and preform review of collateral documents; noting any exceptions and reporting/resolving any deficiencies with lending staff, to ensure the credit union’s security interest is established appropriately.


  • Review MBL files received from underwriting for completeness; communicating any deficiencies with the appropriate underwriter, and ensure all terms for the loan, as approved, are incorporated into the MBL documents prior to loan closing.


  • Effectively communicate with lending staff to schedule loan closings and provide MBL closing packages for Business Loan Advisors (BLA) with specific closing instructions.


  • Ensure MBLs are booked and proceeds are disbursed timely in accordance with loan approval.


  • Create MBL files and complete post-close checklist; verifying timely recording of security documents, within one week of loan disbursement.


  • Submit draw requests (construction, line of credit, escrow for repair, etc.) for approval and process draw once approved.


  • Provide weekly status updates to manager on MBL and MBD files.


  • Follow all credit union policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and complete all required annual or job-specific training.


  • Carry out all responsibilities with professionalism and respect for others in accordance with the credit union’s policies and procedures, and applicable laws.


  • Read all internal publications including Source and Possibilities.


  • Four year college degree in business or finance, or equivalent experience in business banking


  • Three to five years of experience with business deposits and/or consumer loans preferred.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate positively and professionally with employees and members.


  • Working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and the internet.


  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.


  • Ability to pay attention to detail and deadlines.


  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and work independently with minimum supervision.


  • Ability to work on multiple projects with the flexibility for changing priorities; the ability to work with constant interruptions.


  • Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.


  • Ability to operate or have ability to be trained to operate related office equipment, including calculator, check and receipt printers, computer terminal (PC), scanner, telephone and multifunction copier.
