    Support Business Loan Advisors in the areas of credit analysis and underwriting through the use of analytical financial methods designed to identify, assess and then mitigate transaction risks associated with financing projects. Responsible for underwriting of ownership structures and cash flow sources with varying degrees of complexity with limited supervision. Will assist in the on-going monitoring of the credit exposure for assigned relationships, including renewals and annual risk rating review.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare appropriate financial spreads within credit analysis software solution in accordance with established analysis procedures.
    • Analyze spread output including trends, ratios, cash flow, income statement items and balance sheet changes and identify the materiality to each borrowing situation to ask pertinent questions for a complete understanding of the borrower’s operations.
    • Complete approprate collateral analysis for initial loan to value determination.  
    • Complete appropriate credit memo for recommended approvals to include a well-defined purpose, proposed structure, complete collateral analysis, borrower history, financial analysis, identification of any policy/procedure exceptions with appropriate mitigation and completion of risk rating analysis. 
    • Decision loan requests within approved lending authority or present loan requests for approval or denial through appropriate channels.
    • Demonstrate competency of commercial loan documentation to accurately prepare closing instructions. 
    • For declines and incomplete applications, provide documentation preparation personnel with supporting information to include completed adverse action notice within regulatory timeframes.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge in financial analysis and regulatory compliance applicable to member business and commercial lending.

     

     

    Qualifications

    • Four year college degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience analyzing business and personal tax returns.  One to three years of similar or related experience.
    • Must possess a strong background and understanding of finance and accounting.
    • Preference will be given to those candidates with prior commercial credit analysis experience. Sageworks experience desirable.
    • Self-starter with independent decision making ability and effective deductive reasoning to complete tasks under limited supervision. 
    • Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks in order to complete within service standard requirements.

    • Possess a high level of problem solving skills and sound judgment with the ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner.

    • Strong knowledge of financial products and services.
