  • Overview

    Responsible for enterprise LAN/WAN, IP data network and Voice over IP systems, and server infrastructure.  The environment is comprised of Cisco routers, switches and IP telephony products, HP servers running Windows 2003 and 2008 Server, VMware Virtual Infrastructure, and Citrix/Terminal Services.  Direct responsibility for the administration of Windows-based servers and clients as well as network infrastructure.  Position reports directly to the Chief Information Officer and partners with other IT and business leaders to plan and administer the Information Technology Infrastructure.

    Responsibilities

     

    Information Technology and Services

     

    Planning

    • Work with the Chief Information Officer to develop and deliver an effective Strategic IT Plan, with an emphasis on leveraging infrastructure and operations technology to accomplish the Company objectives.

     

    • Substantially contribute to the IT executive management team, offering industry best practices, efficient operational planning and delivery, and innovative thought leadership.

     

    • Develop and adhere to an effective infrastructure budget sufficient to execute the IT Strategic Plan while and maintaining continuous IT operations.

     

    • Develop and maintain an IT asset inventory to track and mitigate the risks of IT assets that are approaching end of life status.

     

    Personnel Management

    • Responsible for the management and oversight of Infrastructure and Operations personnel, including IT Managers, Network Engineers, Server Administrators, and Business Analysts.

     

    • Recruit, develop and retain an excellent IT staff that enables exceptional member experience through technology delivery.

     

    • Develop an optimal organizational structure with clearly defined roles and responsibilities, including mentoring and career development of IT infrastructure personnel.

     

    • Develop and enforce appropriate policies, procedures, and resource management practices.

     

    Infrastructure & Operations

    • Direct the development and maintenance of IT infrastructure systems, delivering 24x7x365 systems availability through effective monitoring, return to service, and problem resolution.

     

    • Direct the design and maintenance of the internal network configuration to meet the ongoing processing needs of all the internal and remote users.

     

    • Lead and direct daily operations for network systems including hardware/software support, training, and special projects.

     

    • Direct the completion of scheduled network tasks; updates to anti-virus definition files, monitoring of networked servers, and internet/intranet user support, and specialized training.

     

    • Direct implementation of data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems. Responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of system hardware and software, including the virtual environment.

     

    • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Storage Area Network (SAN).

     

    • Serve as the primary interface with vendors and clients for hardware/software purchases, product services and support.

     

    • Direct the establishment and maintenance of user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges and security and completion of daily server tape backups.

     

    • Maintain governance and project management structures to ensure appropriate allocation of resources, alignment with organization objectives, delivery within budgets, and realization of expected benefits.

     

    • Establish and report monthly on effective availability, performance, and reliability metrics.

     

    • Direct the installation and maintenance of telephony systems at all locations.

     

    • Direct work on special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installation, backup, maintenance and problem solving as required.

     

    • Collaborate with Information Security to monitor usage, identify potential threats/risks, and to mitigate all security exposures through immediate actions, proactive changes, and technology updates.

     

    Innovation

    • Lead infrastructure teams to proactively identify and implement efficiency improvements and technology advancements that deliver tangible return for the credit union.

     

    • Lead the IT organization and influence business partners to accept and realize the full potential of new technologies, innovative practices, and new approaches in technology management,

     

    Service Level Management

    • Meet or exceed defined service level agreements with both internal and external customers and service providers.

     

    • Monitor and achieve the availability and performance of technology systems. Monitor and achieve functional business services to ensure the credit union is able to conduct business during stated hours according to each delivery channel. 

     

    Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

    • Establish world-class Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery procedures, processes, and technology infrastructures to ensure credit union service are available 24x7x365.

     

    • Direct and deliver semi-annual testing of Disaster Recovery capabilities and Business Continuity preparedness.

     

    • Direct the development, review and certification of all system back-ups and archival.

     

    Qualifications

    • Four year college degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

     

    • Minimum ten to twelve years of related work experience.

     

    • Minimum of five years of experience in a senior IT leadership role with at least three years as an IT executive leading technology infrastructure teams.

     

    • Minimum of three years of experience working with executive leadership in technology strategy development and execution

     

    • A high degree of poise and tact to represent the credit union positively in outside contacts and with employees.

     

    • Regular and reliable attendance is required.

     

    • Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.

     

    • Must be able to lift and carry boxes containing computer components, printer paper, etc.

     

    • Hours may be unpredictable because of unforeseen problems arising, updates, etc.

     

    • Ability to operate or have ability to be trained to operate related office equipment including computer room equipment, i.e. tape backup units, line printers, communications equipment, network devices, etc., calculator, computer terminal (PC), receipt and check printers, telephone and multifunction copier.
