  • Overview

    Preserve and enhance the appearance of facilities. Perform general maintenance, installation and repair duties and perform a variety of duties relative to facilities maintenance.

    Responsibilities

    • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
    • Ensure all appropriate building standards are maintained at a high level of quality.
    • Perform assigned repairs, including but not limited to replacing lamps and ballasts, painting, general carpentry, drywall repair, hanging pictures, flooring repairs, office moves, furniture assembly, door hardware, ceiling tiles, mechanical repairs, assist with HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general building repairs & preventive maintenance work, etc.
    • Review service requests for repairs and maintenance, determine nature of problem, and execute appropriate solution.
    • Coordinate work with outside contractors as required.
    • Serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
    • Respond quickly to emergency situations and after hour's calls, summoning additional assistance as needed.
    • Ability to work unsupervised at times and demonstrate self-initiative to perform routine and non-routine task as requested or assigned. Must be able to operate company vehicle and travel between sites daily.
    • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of one year of related experience and/or trade school training.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy packages, furniture, etc.
    • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
    • Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists. Requires intermediate analytical skills.
    • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.
    • Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
    • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
    • Continuing education for technical coursework is required as assigned by manager.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook. Must be able to be trained on Purchasing-At-A-Glance computer software program.
    • Ability to use or ability to be trained to use a calculator, computer terminal, multifunction copier, receipt and check printers, and typewriter.
