Collaborate with the Corporate Communications Lead and digital marketing team to assist with all copywriting and content efforts. Utilize writing and project management skills to support the team in executing its annual roadmap initiatives in support of the credit union’s strategic growth goals. Develop creative, high-quality marketing content and copy within set timelines.


  • The primary role is that of team writer.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Coordinator to develop content of the credit union’s bi-weekly employee publication, The Source.
  • Assist in creating and revising marketing brochures, sales materials, and member/employee communication.
  • Develop creative concepts and written content for special promotions and events; support concepts with required writing (e.g., emails, social media, press releases, white papers and blogs) in collaboration with Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications Lead.
  • Deliver website and social media content in collaboration with Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Digital Marketing Lead.
  • Conceptualize and write copy for a variety of marketing assets including print collateral, web content, sales collateral, emails, social media articles, etc.
  • Keeps forms, brochures, print advertisements and other promotional materials fresh and current with up-to-date revisions and new content as required.
  • Develop clear, concise and strategic messaging that support key initiatives.
  • Plan and execute public relations campaigns including the ability to create press releases and social media content.
  • Research subject matter to ensure the quality and accuracy of copy.
  • Possess knowledge of content strategy; create content for Ascend’s social media properties that include blog posts, Twitter feeds and LinkedIn articles.
  • Coordinate content generation by Ascend staff as needed to support marketing and communication functions.



  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing/Public Relations, or related field. 


  • One to three years of similar or related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Mastery of basic marketing and public relations theory and practice.
  • Professional copywriting experience; candidates will be required to submit writing samples of successful marketing campaigns.
  • Exceptional proofreading and editing skills. Demonstrate exceptional use of grammar. Strong attention to detail for sentence structure and grammatical accuracy with a commitment to flawless execution.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with various internal teams to create compelling marketing content.
  • Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms.
  • Must possess strong communications, organization, and copywriting skills.
  • Ability to write compelling messages in a range of voices and styles for varied projects with diverse audiences.
  • Solid understanding of online copywriting (keyword-rich Web copy) and how it impacts search-engine optimization.
  • Excellent written and spoken presentation skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to produce good-quality content with tight deadlines while remaining flexible and handling changing priorities.
  • Ability to self-start and exercise initiative, good judgment, creativity and diplomacy.
  • Resourceful and accountable team player and collaborator.
  • Must present a friendly, courteous and professional image to credit union members, potential field of membership companies, outside vendors, and co-workers.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
