Overview

Utilize advanced skills to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, vehicles, equipment and grounds. Working under limited supervision, monitor building system operations and performance. Utilize several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling.#LI-Onsite

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
  • Oversee and inspect the work performed by outside contractors. Contracted work includes landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbers, and cleaning.
  • Perform assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance to HVAC, plumbing, lighting and minor electrical. Complete maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Review assigned work orders. Estimate time and materials needed to complete repair. Order necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.
  • Perform carpentry, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations and afterhours calls, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Ability to work unsupervised at times and demonstrate self-initiative to perform routine and non-routine task as requested or assigned. Must be able to operate company vehicle and travel between sites daily.
  • Read all internal publications including HUB and Possibilities.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Work Experience

  • 3-5 years of related experience and/or trade school training is required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Universal CFC certification preferred. Additional certification in one or more of the following is preferred: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair.
  • Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy packages, furniture, etc.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
  • Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists. Requires intermediate analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.
  • Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
  • Continuing education for technical coursework is required as assigned by manager.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook. Must be able to be trained on Purchasing-At-A-Glance computer software program.
  • Ability to use or ability to be trained to use a calculator, computer terminal, multifunction copier, receipt and check printers, and typewriter.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
